“I canu2019t say enough good things about OGA. My 7-year-old has been training there for a little over a year and half. My almost 5-year-old has been in their younger kidsu2019 class on and off for a few months and is starting to get more interested. Eddie, Hannah, and Courtney are amazing instructors u2013 humble and kind while also being masterful teachers that cultivate an environment that promotes hard work and teamwork. The ”

“My daughters recently started learning Jiu Jitsu at OGA and they really enjoy the fun challenge of the art. The gym is very spacious and clean perfect for wrestling and rolling around. Coach Eddie, Hannah and Courtney are the best instructors and basically magicians at tailoring moves for any level and pairing up the appropriate partner in wrestling rounds. There is lots of feedback given to the kids on refining move”

“Hannah and Eddie are everything you could hope for in a coach or instructor. They make sure everyone feels welcome and supported, while also tailoring instruction to each personu2019s skill level and physical abilities. Every class emphasizes both learning and growth, and they encourage live rounds at every practiceu2014helping students apply techniques in real time. “Caveat: white belt perspective. I've experimented with a few gyms in the Portland area and this one is great. The owners, Eddie and Hannah are particularly welcoming, knowledgeable and go out of their way to communicate and explain fundamentals and techniques in a way thats fun and digestible. They also follow up and check in with their members regularly. Apart from that the location, size, and in particular cleanlin”

“Hannnah and Eddie are absolutely incredible instructors. They were so welcoming and supportive. I am a new student to there school and everyone was super nice which is rare when your a new student at a school. Furthermore, there classes were very helpful. We drilled, did positional sparring and then open rolls. Advance and beginner classes were happening at the same time so if your new your lessons will be slightly m”

“Clear instruction and helpful hands-on coaching with friendly folks in a clean, open space. I dropped in this weekend with a teammate who used to train with Coach Eddie. I had a great time and would love to return someday. I got a lot of direct, real-time feedback during drilling, as Eddie walked around the mat; it was nice being able to make immediate adjustments to my technique. Several fun and productive rounds (s”

“My son wanted to learn martial arts but didnu2019t want anybody to punch him in the face. This led us on a quest to find a grappling gym, which we found here. There are a lot of weird people in the world teaching jiu jitsu, but not here. Eddie and Hannah are amazing. Their gym has a culture of respect, patience, pride, and support. The kids cheer each otheru2019s successes as their own, the attention to safety is top-notch, ”

“Excellent instruction, supportive community, and a safe space for women. Hannah and Eddie clearly care deeply for every student - theyu2019re not only kind and supportive but also incredibly gifted instructors. I love that there's a strong womenu2019s presence in every class and feel confident that anyone I brought here would feel safe, welcomed, and supported while learning jiu jitsu.”
