Editorial Policy

Americano Sports is a directory, so most of what you read here is facts about places: where a venue is, when it opens, what it offers and what visitors say about it. This page explains where those facts come from, how venues get ranked, what we will and won’t publish, and how to get something fixed.

Where listing information comes from

Each venue starts from its public Google Maps listing: name, category, address, coordinates, phone, website, opening hours, rating and review count. When a venue has its own website, we read it and keep only details the site states plainly — programs, age groups, prices, how to book. If a detail can’t be traced to one of those sources, it doesn’t go on the page.

How descriptions are written

Venue descriptions and page introductions are drafted with the help of AI models and then checked automatically before they are published: every number has to appear in the source data, every venue name has to be real, and speculation (“probably”, “likely”) is rejected. Drafts that fail are not published; the page keeps its factual summary instead.

How rankings work

Top-rated lists and best-of guides order venues by their average rating weighted by how many people rated them (rating × log10(reviews + 1)), so a 4.8 from 600 visitors outranks a 5.0 from three. Venues cannot pay to appear, to rank higher, or to have reviews removed. Advertising on the site is served by Google AdSense and is never connected to listings or rankings.

What we leave out

The directory is for places to play and train. Shops, bars, arcades, churches, apartment complexes and other businesses that happen to carry a sports-sounding name are removed when we find them. Ratings shown from Google are displayed as text only; star-rating markup is used only for reviews posted on Americano Sports itself.

Visitor reviews

Anyone can review a venue on its page and rate it on facilities and equipment, coaching and staff, cleanliness and value for money. Reviews pass through spam filtering, and abusive ones are removed. We don’t edit what reviewers say, and we don’t remove honest negative reviews at a venue’s request.

Corrections

Hours change, venues move and some close. If something on a page is wrong, use the contact form with the page link and what should change. listed corrections are applied to the listing directly; venues that have closed are taken down.
