SLATE PREVIEW

In between a 13-game Tuesday and an 11-game Thursday, we have a relatively sparse evening. The only events scheduled for Wednesday are the Capitals hosting Toronto at 7:30 p.m. ET, the Coyotes playing in Dallas at 8:00 p.m., and the Wild facing off against the Kings at 10:00 p.m. These lighter nights can be exciting for DFS play as the smaller pool of choices makes it more difficult to build a strong roster. If you’re ready for the challenge tonight, here are some suggestions to keep in mind.

GOALIES

Thomas Harley, DAL vs. ARI (,300): We’re light on offensive defensemen options tonight, but Harley is having a solid campaign with 15 goals and 38 points through 66 appearances in 2023-24. He’s also strung together three points (one goal) over his past two games, so the 22-year-old might be at the start of a hot streak.
Ryan Hartman is a center who is priced at ,600, while Kirill Kaprizov is a winger priced at ,900 and Matt Boldy is also a winger, priced at ,800.

VALUE PLAYS

Dallas Stars’ Jamie Benn (,300) will be facing off against the Arizona Coyotes tonight. Benn has been on a hot streak, earning a point in seven out of his last eight games and scoring a total of three goals and 11 points. He has now reached 12 goals and 45 points in 69 games this season. The Coyotes have struggled defensively, ranking 23rd in the league with an average of 3.29 goals allowed per game. This could bode well for Benn and the rest of the Dallas forwards.

Even though Carlson’s performance this season has been below his usual standards, he still outperforms most other defensemen when it comes to offensive production. With five goals and 40 points in 67 games, the 34-year-old is proving his consistency. Though he had a brief scoring slump in mid-March, he quickly turned it around with points in his last two games. Carlson is also a leader in blocked shots and has taken 131 shots on goal, making him a valuable player even on nights when he doesn’t score.

FORWARD LINE STACK

Wild at Kings

Kaprizov has scored in eight consecutive games, tallying a total of 10 goals and 14 points. In the 2023-24 season, he has now recorded 36 goals and 77 points in 62 games. Although his linemates have not been as impressive, Hartman has contributed five points (three goals) in the last five games while Boldy has collected six points (one goal) in the same period. Therefore, it would be wise to choose all three players for your team.

In addition to Fleury, the top line of Minnesota is making every effort to lead the Wild to the playoffs.Toronto, Minnesota and LA are all on the second half of a back-to-back, so fatigue might be a factor for those squads. At least in the case of the Wild and the Kings, they’re playing each other, so that mostly cancels it out, but the Maple Leafs have a bigger challenge on the road against a rested home squad.

DEFENSEMEN

Logan Cooley, player for Arizona Coyotes playing against Dallas Stars with a salary of ,700, is a good option for tonight’s game despite limited options. At 19 years old, Cooley is determined to end his first season on a positive note. He has scored in his last two games and in five of his last 10 games, bringing his total to 13 goals and 32 points in 68 games for the 2023-24 season. Cooley has been consistently taking shots, with 17 in his last five games, increasing his chances of scoring tonight. Even if he doesn’t score, he should still earn a decent amount of FanDuel points.Charlie Lindgren, WAS vs. TOR (,300): Lindgren is having a great campaign with an 18-11-5 record, 2.59 GAA and .915 save percentage across 36 outings, and he’s been especially effective recently, allowing just eight goals on 182 shots (.956 save percentage) over his last six starts. The Maple Leafs rank third offensively with 3.57 goals per game, so they’re typically a rough opponent for opposing goaltenders, but as noted above, Toronto will have to combat fatigue tonight. Additionally, they’re missing Mitchell Marner, who remains unavailable due to an ankle injury.

Marc-Andre Fleury, playing for the Vegas Golden Knights, is set to face the Minnesota Wild at the Los Angeles Kings for a game priced at ,600. The Wild are currently on a winning streak of 6-0-2 and are coming off a huge 4-0 victory against the Anaheim Ducks. However, they are still trailing behind in the wild-card competition, so they cannot afford to lose momentum. Luckily, they have a seasoned 39-year-old goalkeeper, Fleury, who has a lot of experience handling high-pressure situations. Additionally, Fleury has been in top form lately, winning five out of his last seven games with impressive stats of a 1.69 GAA and .937 save percentage.
