“I came in the shop ready to finally invest in my own pair of hockey skates. The overall vibe in the shop was great! The staff at this Gunzos location was knowledgeable and friendly. The young man who helped me with my skates was patient, attentive, provided expertise, and ensured that I got skates that fit well. My purchase of skates included a skate bake and an initial sharpening. I highly recommend anyone looking f”

“35 dollars to bake your skates for 5 minu2026 what a joke! Also the guy behind the counter seemed miserable and called that a convenience fee. Not sure what these prices have come to but to walk 5 steps to an oven and ask for 35 dollars for 10 min is a joke.”

“We randomly decided to own ice skates rather than waste money on a rental session at Ribbon @Millennial Park for our nostalgic trip back to Chitown. Grabbed a ride over early morning before our flight, and both staff (Brandon? and Will) were incredibly helpful. They fitted us quickly, sharpened our new hockey skates, and were so affordable. Thanks for your great attitudes!”

“Brought my son and my skates in for a sharpening. I thought Iu2019d get the typical 5/8u201dhone. These blades were sharper than anything Iu2019ve ever seen in 35 years of skating. Had to be a 3/8u201d-7/16u201d hone. My son had a rough time trying to stop and I ended up rolling my ankle. First of all, a size 11 youth skate should never receive skates that sharp and second any hone under 1/2u201d should be request not given without warning.”

“Bought a pair of ice skates from fb and they were way too tight. I brought them here to stretch and they ended up still being too tight. Turns out I had the wrong size entirely. I ended up getting a new pair and I'm happy with the new pair. I might have to stretch them a bit too but at least they're the right size.”

“A few months ago I got my recreational figure skates sharpened here. They did a great job and they held an edge very well. Surprised since most of my figure skating friends insist on going out to their skate shops in the suburbs to get sharpened, but I just don't have time for that! They were friendly and reasonably priced too. They cut a deeper hollow at my request because I was about to start lessons just below fre”

“Been coming here for years for my skate sharpening and never had a problem. Other shops have screwed up my hollow and Gunzo's always fixes it up for me. Staff is kind and knowledgeable.”

“Excellent resource for all things hockey with professional service. I've visited Gonzo's many times throughout the years, for my kids and myself. They are very helpful for casual skater and hockey enthusiast alike. Procu00e8s are reasonable.”
