“This is my home gym and the place I find to fit my BJJ theory the best. Itu2019s really a gym culture based on making sure Baltimore City kids can train for free. That ethos really does work itself through everything including the adult program and it creates what I call cooperative BJJ. Love this gym would give 20 stars if I could.”

“Guardian is a wonderful place to train with skilled yet humble coaches and a clean, well-maintained space. Iu2019m especially grateful for the women at this gym who welcomed me in and support me on and off the mat. The coaches challenge you to improve and take the time to break things down so you really get it.”

“Amazing gym!!! I have been training here for 2+ years after years at different schools. All classes are taught by excellent black belts and there are many other higher belts around to spar with and learn from. The environment is extremely welcoming and open to EVERYONE regardless of age, sex, experience, sexual orientation or any other factor. lots of gyms have negative, overly masculine cultures but not Guardian. th”

“There are many reasons to train here. The primary reason I train there is to help the kids. This is a nonprofit organization where the adults donate fees and all kids under 18 train for free. The jiujitsu is good. If you want to learn how to fight, train hard and get in shape, this is your place. There's a great group of high level folks that train at noon and exchange a ton of fight theory. Recently added mat space.”

“This is a great place with a great community of welcoming members and coaches. The gymu2019s coaches are all awesome and really make learning the sport of JitJitsu fun and interesting. They provide showers and water and the mats are well maintained. If youu2019re in Baltimore this is definitely the gym to train at.”

“Started training here a few years ago. Locura, Jarrid, and Carlos are great instructors, the rolls are hard but the vibes are very supportive//not overwhelmingly bro-y. Love that my membership pays for the kids to train for free.”

“The continuing support and overall atmosphere of this place is amazing. Itu2019s perfect for young people who are still attending school virtually and need a little socialization. They teach camaraderie, self-defense and de-escalation, not just how to attack, and I have to say thatu2019s what I like the most.”

“I consider Guardian my home gym whenever Iu2019m visiting in the city, and one of my best friends trains here. The instructors are great communicators AND very skilled, and the vibe is warm and welcoming. Youu2019ll feel at home whether you are a purple belt or brand new to the art. This, combined with their mission to offer FREE training to Baltimoreu2019s youth, should be enough for anybody to want to come in and support. Love”
