Zendaya’s Latest Movie “Challengers” Receives High Praise from Tennis Stars
Zendaya, the talented 27-year-old actress, was recently humbled by the reaction of tennis star Serena Williams to her new movie Challengers. In an interview with ET, Zendaya shared how Serena, known as the Queen of the Court, watched her portrayal of tennis-player-turned-coach Tashi Duncan.
“She was like, ‘I know there definitely weren’t real [tennis] balls,’” Zendaya recalled, highlighting Serena’s keen eye for detail. Despite not fooling Serena, Zendaya was thrilled to receive positive feedback from the tennis legend, who acknowledged her performance despite her lack of experience with tennis balls.
But Serena Williams wasn’t the only tennis pro to show appreciation for Zendaya’s work. Last week, Venus Williams shared a photo of herself at the Los Angeles premiere of Challengers, captioning it with, “Serve @challengersmovie.”
Zendaya, visibly moved by Venus’s gesture, shared the post on her Instagram stories, expressing her excitement and gratitude. She wrote, “Wow wow wow… this is so special,” over the photograph, showcasing her admiration for the tennis star.
