The coach of the Chargers, Jim Harbaugh, proclaimed that his previous quarterback at Michigan, J.J. McCarthy, will most likely be chosen as the top pick in the draft. Although this is unlikely, many are starting to believe it’s possible for him to be selected as the second pick.DraftKings Sportsbook has moved McCarthy from +2500 to be the second pick to +500, following his Pro Day workout and building chatter that the Commanders will opt for the guy who won a national championship in January.
The Commanders have the option to retain that choice, or they may choose to trade it to another party who may be interested in McCarthy.
Some are predicting that Jayden Daniels, the quarterback for LSU, will be the second pick in the draft. Chris Simms ranks Daniels as the definite second choice after USC’s Caleb Williams.
