Before arriving in Dallas today, Jones had already visited the Titans and Cardinals. As the teams prepare for OTAs, Tennessee has signed experienced wide receiver Tyler Boyd, indicating their stance on the position.

Dallas witnessed the full potential of Jones when he was at his peak during the 2022 season, which was his best yet. The electrifying and 6-foot-2 wide receiver recorded a career-high three touchdowns against the Cowboys (with six catches and 109 receiving yards) in a high-scoring victory for Jacksonville.

The current Dallas WR depth chart includes Jalen Tolbert, KaVontae Turpin, Jalen Brooks, and sixth-round rookie Ryan Flournoy. Adding Jones, with his experience, would be seen as an improvement.

Zay Jones, a wide receiver without a team, has a scheduled visit with the Cowboys on Wednesday. According to a source, this visit coincides with the news that Dallas has released Martavis Bryant, which was reported by NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero.

The Cowboys seem to be searching for a new player to replace Michael Gallup, who was released due to financial reasons this offseason. Gallup was a reliable third choice for quarterback Dak Prescott after CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks, but injuries early in his career hindered his potential as a former third-round pick.

Jones, who was born and raised in Dallas and played high school football there, was let go by the Jaguars last week after being with the team for two years. Despite being 29 years old, he had a season plagued by injuries and only played in nine games while making 34 catches for 321 yards. However, he had a standout first season with the Jaguars where he recorded career-high stats of 82 receptions, 823 yards, and five touchdowns.
