Zach Eflin vs. Michael Soroka at the Trop. So how did it all go down?

A Strong Start

In the top of the first, Eflin dominated, getting the White Sox three-up three-down. However, in the bottom half, Randy Arozarena’s two-out walk was cut short as he got caught stealing to end the inning.

With two outs in the top of the second, Bryan Ramos singled, followed by Rafael Ortega reaching on a fielding error. Despite the effort, the Rays left two men stranded at the end of the inning.

Rays Take the Lead

Isaac Paredes kickstarted the Rays’ offense in the second inning with a single, followed by a walk to Richie Palacios. A Harold Ramirez single brought Paredes home, putting the Rays on the board. Despite a double play, the Rays managed to score another run, ending the inning with a 2-0 lead.

The third inning saw another flawless performance from Eflin, while Arozarena’s two-run home run extended the Rays’ lead to 4-0.

White Sox Struggle

The White Sox continued to struggle in the fourth inning, failing to score any runs. Despite a two-out walk, the Rays’ defense held strong.

Things got tense in the top of the fifth as Eflin faced a bases-loaded situation, but the Rays managed to escape unscathed. The Rays went 1-2-3 in the bottom half.

Rays Maintain Control

The White Sox were shut down in the sixth inning, while Paredes added to the Rays’ lead with a solo home run. Although the Rays had opportunities, they couldn’t convert any more runs.

In the seventh, the White Sox finally got on the board with a solo home run, but the Rays’ defense held strong. The Rays left two men stranded in the bottom half.

Final Innings

Phil Maton’s solid relief pitching in the eighth inning kept the White Sox at bay. In the bottom half, the Rays had a chance to extend their lead but left two men stranded.

Manuel Rodriguez closed out the game for the Rays, securing a 5-1 victory over the White Sox.
