In their first game, Alexis Kempf, a sophomore, scored three times for Lansdowne as they defeated Owings Mills 7-1. Madison Wurm, Kya Logan, Medary Velasquez, and Cindy Lopez also contributed goals to the victory. Kaitlyn Markowski, the goalie for Lansdowne, made 17 saves against Owings Mills and only let in one goal.

Softball

The North Harford Hawks defeated the Harford Tech Cobras in a close game of 6-5. Mikaila Eltringham’s RBI single in the seventh inning was the deciding factor as the Hawks managed to hold off the Cobras’ late comeback attempt. Jenna Trzeciak had a strong performance with a single, double, and three RBIs. Pitcher Ashlie McMillan pitched a complete game and was credited with the win. Harford Tech’s Katie Burr had three hits and two RBIs in the losing effort.

On Thursday, March 21, here’s a summary of the varsity sports events that took place in high schools.

The final score was Patterson Mill 21, Aberdeen 2, with five Huskies recording three hits. However, none matched Savannah Reedy’s impressive performance, as she went 3-for-3 with three home runs and six RBIs. Kenzie Knight, Kaylyn Pulket, Audrey March, and Cadence Pfistner also had successful days at the plate, each with three hits. Knight, Pulket, Lily Baldwin, and Pfistner all contributed two RBIs.

Gavin Rayner hit a single to left field, bringing Cameron Cooke home in the seventh inning to clinch a 5-4 victory for Perry Hall against Randallstown. Rayner recorded three hits during the game, while JD Eckelt also contributed a run.

Baseball

The Warriors defeated the Elkton team 5-1, with Taylor Blevins pitching a two-hit game and striking out seven batters. At bat, Bryce Bauer contributed a double and three runs batted in, while Tyler Stwarka also brought in a run for the Warriors.

In the game between C. Milton Wright and North East, both teams were tied at 0-0 after seven innings. In the eighth inning, they each scored one run. However, in the end, CMW was victorious thanks to Maddie Youngworth’s RBI double. Izzie Youngworth pitched all 10 innings, giving up six hits and striking out 16 batters.

The Blue Birds dominated the game against Kenwood, scoring five runs in the first inning and maintaining their lead until the end. Kasen Wickline stood out with two hits and three RBIs, while Joe Weir and Seth Trocki also contributed significantly with two hits and two RBIs each.

Girls lacrosse

In the game between Bel Air and Perryville, the Bobcats scored three runs in the first inning and four in the second, taking an early lead. A standout performance by Ben Bowen, who hit a home run, a triple, and batted in two runs, helped secure the victory. Also contributing to the score were Jordan Kozak, Noah Shillman, Sean Roberts, and Sean Ferrell with RBIs, and Ben Sellers with two doubles.


In an impressive performance to begin her season, Madison Burns led Fallston to a 14-0 victory over Edgewood. Going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, she contributed eight RBIs and four runs. She even hit a home run and a double. Her teammate Abigail Marmen also had a stellar game, going 4-for-4 with two triples and three RBIs. Allyson Underwood pitched a strong game, striking out eight in five innings to earn the win.
