The Rise of Young Talent: A Story of Success from La Punta Sports High Performance Center

The young man is the third player to migrate from the La Punta Sports High Performance Center to a national team so far in 2024.

Amidst the bustling world of sports, a beacon of hope shines bright in the form of young talent emerging from the Centro de Alto Rendimiento Deportivo (CARD) of La Punta. This month, another star is set to embark on a new journey as handball player Felipe Telleria prepares to join the ranks of Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires. At just 18 years old, Felipe’s dream of being called up by a prestigious team like Boca is coming true, marking a significant milestone in his sports career following a challenging injury.

Reflecting on his rehabilitation process, Felipe acknowledges the crucial role played by the Sports Medical Team, coaches, and physical trainers at CARD. “Boca had been keeping an eye on us for a while,” he shares, referring to himself and fellow player Lautaro Moreno. “They witnessed our progress through videos and recognized our potential,” adds Felipe, whose family beams with pride at his accomplishments.

With Telleria becoming the third CARD player to transition to national teams in 2024, the spotlight shines on the dedicated professionals who support high-performance athletes in the province. Their unwavering commitment and expertise have not only nurtured talent but also showcased the immense potential that lies within La Punta’s sports community.
