Jingzhou Hosts National Badminton Tournament, Showcasing Sports and Culture
JINGZHOU, China – Teh China jingzhou National Ancient and Cultural City Badminton Invitational Tournament concluded successfully on April 13, 2025, after three days of competition at the Jingzhou Culture and Sports Centre Gymnasium. The tournament,a five-star event in the China Badminton Association’s national fitness points series,aimed to promote the integrated progress of culture,tourism,and sports,and to establish Jingzhou as a leading badminton city.
The event, which ran from April 11-13, was co-organized by the China Badminton Association, the Hubei Provincial Sports Bureau, and the Jingzhou Municipal People’s Government.
University Volunteers Provide On-Site Medical Support
A team of student volunteers from a local university’s rehabilitation program provided medical support to athletes throughout the tournament. Led by Professor Liu Lingfeng, four members of the university’s Rehabilitation Association offered services including traditional Chinese medicine consultations, pre-match warm-ups, post-match recovery, medicated oil massage, and cupping therapy.
The student volunteers, selected from specialized skill-based student organizations, underwent two weeks of intensive training in sports rehabilitation to prepare for the event. They used techniques such as kneading, pinching, pressing, and pushing to relax muscles and soothe the athletes, helping them perform at their best.
Students Gain practical Experience Through Volunteer Work
The volunteer effort allowed the athletes to experience the hospitality of the Jingzhou people and provided a valuable practical platform for rehabilitation students. By applying their classroom knowledge in a real-world setting, the students enhanced their professional skills and overall competence.
