Tyler Gibbs is poised to take on⁢ the​ leadership role at Toyota‌ Racing Development (TRD) as current⁣ President David Wilson prepares for ‌retirement at the end of this year. With nearly‌ thirty years ⁤of experience ⁣at TRD and⁢ a foundational ⁣background⁣ in ​engineering⁣ from Cosworth Engineering, Gibbs is well-equipped ⁣for his new responsibilities.

Gibbs ⁤will ⁢be responsible for managing‌ TRD’s operations throughout North America, which includes overseeing engine development, chassis engineering, and various administrative ‌tasks across TRD’s facilities located in Costa​ Mesa, California; Salisbury; and Mooresville, North Carolina.

<pHaving worked alongside⁢ Wilson for 28⁤ years, Gibbs spoke about his recent appointment in a statement reported by Motorsport.com:

“I have large shoes to step into. Dave has been⁤ fundamental to TRD’s expansion and culture over these past 35 years. Throughout my 28-year tenure under Dave’s guidance, he has provided me with numerous chances to learn and ⁤develop professionally; this opportunity is another such moment.”
