Turtle Day: A Celebration of Marine Life and Conservation in Arma di Taggia
ARMA DI TAGGIA, Italy – Celebrate marine conservation at the “Turtle Day” event on april 12, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Piazza Tiziano Chierotti. The event aims to educate and engage the public in the protection of sea turtles, which have increasingly nested on the shores of the Western Liguria region.
Engaging Activities for all Ages
Organized by Delfini del Ponente APS and the municipality of Taggia, with support from the Sanremo Coast Guard, the day features free activities suitable for adults, families, and children.
- All Day (9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.): Marine biologists and naturalists will offer insights into the behavior of sea turtles and other marine life. A photographic exhibition and information stands will provide additional educational resources.
- 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.: Participate in “Tarta Yoga” on the beach with Chiara from Tempo Yoga. All skill levels are welcome; participants are encouraged to bring a mat or towel.
- 10:15 a.m.: Children’s workshops begin, offering creative and educational activities throughout the morning.
- 11:15 a.m.- 12:15 p.m.: Join an informal discussion with experts from the sanremo Coast Guard and delfini del Ponente APS about sea turtle conservation.
- 12:15 p.m.: enter a team sand turtle-building competition, open to children, families, and adults.
- 1:30 p.m.: Awards will be given for the most original sand creations.

The event is part of the actions promoted by AERA (European Rotary Association for the Environment) with the backing of local associations to support the protection of sea turtles in Liguria.
