During ⁢the Watkins Glen race, Thomas Annunziata—a talented young driver in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Joey Gase Motorsports—faced an unforeseen challenge that compelled him to retire mid-race due to health⁣ issues.

In his stead, team owner ⁣and seasoned driver Joey Gase stepped in to ensure‍ the team’s continued presence in‌ the race.

Annunziata, who has⁤ been gaining attention for‌ his performances in the Trans-Am Series and his impressive‍ debut⁢ at Sonoma earlier this season,⁤ had to withdraw due to⁢ dehydration.

It has been reported that an equipment malfunction—a disconnected helmet hose—might have worsened his situation. Despite⁢ being in good physical shape, Annunziata‌ found it difficult to manage the rigorous demands of the race.
