Warriors’ Curry Becomes Oldest NBA Player to Achieve Rare Scoring Feat
Steph Curry continues to defy age with impressive performance
Through the first 10 games of his age-35 season, the endurance of Warriors superstar Steph Curry continues to impress. Curry, who is currently averaging 30.0 points for the 6-4 Warriors, has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the oldest player in NBA history to average at least 30.0 points through his first 10 games of a season.
In his 15th year, Curry has been a force to be reckoned with, playing an average of 32.1 minutes per game. He has displayed exceptional shooting skills, maintaining a steady 49.5 percent from the field and an astonishing 45.2 percent on 3-pointers.
Not only is Curry a scoring machine, but he also contributes in other areas of the game. The nine-time All-NBA guard has been well-rounded, averaging 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists this season.
Just 13 days ago, Curry showcased his brilliance by scoring 42 points against the New Orleans Pelicans. Coach Steve Kerr praised Curry’s dedication and work ethic, stating, “He looks better than ever at 35 years old. He puts the work in every summer, constantly looking for edges in his training. There’s a reason he’s Steph Curry. It’s just stunning to watch.”
This season, Curry has seamlessly continued his outstanding performance from the previous year. As a nine-time NBA All-Star, he averaged 29.4 points in 56 games last season.
Furthermore, Curry’s achievements extend beyond his recent success. He secured his second NBA scoring title three seasons ago, averaging 32.0 points per game at the age of 33 during the 2020-2021 season.
While Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James holds the record for being the oldest player to average 30 points per game for an entire season, accomplishing this feat at the age of 37, Curry’s longevity suggests that he may challenge this record in the future.
With 72 games remaining in the season, it is highly likely that Curry will maintain his impressive 30-point average, especially considering the inconsistent performance of the Warriors, who heavily rely on his scoring prowess.
