The matchup between the Dodgers and Yankees stands as the most frequent World Series encounter in the history of baseball, with this October marking their 12th meeting. However, this latest encounter is distinctive for a few reasons.
It is the first instance since 2013 (when the Red Sox faced the Cardinals) that the teams possessing the best records in each league compete in the Fall Classic during a continuous season.
