BOULDER,Colo. — Colorado coach Deion Sanders believes quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Heisman Trophy winner travis Hunter are the top two prospects for the 2025 NFL draft and told NFL talent evaluators, coaches and personnel executives as much Friday.
Sanders made the bold declaration at Colorado’s pro day, were Shedeur Sanders and Hunter were among 16 buffaloes showcasing their skills. the coach doubled down on his assessment, stating that drafting either player is a “safe bet.”
“They should be 1-2 [in the draft], that’s what I think,” Sanders said. “They’re the two best players in this draft… The safest bets in this draft are those two young men, and I didn’t stutter or stammer when I said that.”

While neither Shedeur Sanders nor Travis Hunter participated in the majority of positional drills or physical tests, Sanders threw for just under an hour.
