Rithvik Sanjeevi became the men’s singles national champion on Sunday with his win over Bharat Raghav in the final of the 87th edition of the event in Vijayawada.
Sanjeevi registered a 21-16, 22-20 win over Raghav to survive nervy moments in the second game as he saved a game point to close out the tie in straight games.
Young shuttler Sathwik Reddy Kanapuram and Radhika Sharma got the better of the World Number 46-ranked Ashith Surya and Amrutha Prathamesh in the summit clash of the mixed doubles, while former National Champs Ashwini Bhatt and Shikha Gautam coasted to a win over the second seeded Priya Konjengbam and Shruti Mishra.
Kanapuram and Sharma clinched an opening game advantage with a 21-9 win against Surya and Prathamesh before going on to close out the win in the second game of the fixture.
Hariharan Amsakarunan and Ruban Rethinasabapathi put it past the duo of Mithileish P Krishnan and Prejan to win the men’s doubles crown at the event in Andhra Paradesh.
