CORUNNA,Ontario – Peter Melvin Humble,a beloved husband,father,and grandfather,passed away peacefully on April 4,2025,at Bluewater Health,after a brief illness. He was 81.
A Life of Service and Dedication
Humble was known for his deep faith and commitment to his community. He served as an Elder and Sunday School teacher at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in corunna for manny years, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to his faith community. He also served on the Corunna Fire Township for over 20 years achieving the position of Captain and Training Officer. He was deeply respected for his service and commitment to the safety of his fellow citizens.

Humble worked at Dow for many years, where he formed lasting friendships with his fellow millwrights and tradesmen. Even after retiring, he maintained these bonds, organizing monthly breakfasts with Dow retirees in Sombra.

A lifelong hockey and baseball fan, Humble actively supported local sports.He served as a Board Member of the Mooretown Flags hockey team and coached Corunna Minor Baseball, impacting the lives of many young athletes, including his own children.

He is also survived by his bonus children Amanda Gaw,Marnie (Jack) Pretty,and Marcy (Matt) Draker,and thier families. He was predeceased by his frist wife of 42 years, Mary Jane (2007); his parents, melvin and Jean humble; and his son-in-law Eric Crone (2011).

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna. A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Corunna on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Katherine Hawley. Interment will follow at Moore-Union Cemetery, Mooretown.
