Viens⁢ noted that in ​Quebec, each person consumes approximately 40 ⁤kg of new textiles annually, with 82% of​ consumed clothing being imported. The amount of textiles ending ⁤up ⁢in landfills jumped by 81.9% between 2011 and 2019-2020.

“These‌ figures remind us that we need to take action. Before making a purchase, we⁢ can ask ourselves several questions. We propose the BISOU method: B for Besoin (Need), do‌ I really ‌need it? I for Immédiat (Immediate), can I wait a few days before‍ making a purchase? S for Semblable (Similar), do I have a garment similar to the one I want to buy? O for Origine (Origin), where​ does the product come from,‌ where was it made? ‌And U for Utile (Useful), will this garment really be useful to me?”
