Donna Kelce, a seasoned parent herself, recently spoke about her sons’ parenting styles and their interactions with their nieces. In an interview promoting her partnership with Barefoot Wines, the 71-year-old NFL mom revealed that her son Jason, who is turning 36, initially had a different approach to raising his three granddaughters, Wyatt (4), Elliotte (2), and Bennett (8 months).

Donna explained that Jason initially believed he could raise the girls like boys, but soon realized that it was a completely different experience. She mentioned that Jason’s wife Kylie, who comes from an all-girls family, plays a significant role in guiding him as a parent. Donna emphasized that Jason doesn’t seek her advice on parenting, as Kylie is actively involved in providing him with tips.

“He thought he could raise the girls like boys and then he figured out, no, it’s totally different,” Donna said. She further explained that Jason had to adjust his parenting style because it wasn’t the same as when he grew up with his brother Travis Kelce, who is 34 years old and a Super Bowl champion playing for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Donna highlighted that Jason has become more gentle with his girls, respecting their boundaries when they express discomfort during rough play. She mentioned that he has learned to take a step back and adjust his approach accordingly.

During the interview, Donna also shared insights into her younger son Travis’s relationship with his nieces. Travis, who plays as a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and has recently made headlines for his romance with Taylor Swift, thoroughly enjoys being an uncle. Donna clarified that Travis simply loves kids, regardless of their relation to him.

According to Donna, Travis is an exceptional uncle, describing him as “really good and animated.” She added, “He’s a kid himself. He just feels like he’s one of them. I don’t think he’s ever going to grow up.”
