Three-Time WNBA Champion Natasha Howard Returns to Indiana Fever
Indianapolis, IN – the Indiana Fever announced today the signing of three-time WNBA champion Natasha Howard, bringing the versatile forward back to the team. Howard was originally drafted by the Fever in 2014.
“Natasha has been a top free agent target for us since day one,” said Fever General Manager and COO Amber Cox. “ In addition to being one of the most versatile forwards our league has ever seen, she is also a proven winner and will bring a great veteran presence to our locker room. Having worked with her the last two seasons,I came to admire her professionalism and approach to the game. She’s an incredible player and even better person and we are thrilled to welcome her back to the Fever.”
Howard expressed her excitement about returning to Indiana, stating, “I’m so thankful to God for leading me back to my home with the Indiana Fever. No matter the situation, when you believe and uplift, a great gift will be waiting for you. I’m excited to get back to Indiana to represent and share the love with those who believed in me from day one.”
This signing reunites Howard with Head Coach stephanie White, who was an assistant with the Fever in 2014 before becoming Head Coach in 2015.Together, they led the team to the 2015 WNBA Finals after reaching the Conference Finals the previous year, HowardS rookie season.
Howard is a decorated champion, winning three WNBA titles: two consecutively with the Minnesota Lynx (2017) and Seattle Storm (2018), and adding another with the Storm in 2020. She was recognized as the 2018 most Improved Player and earned All-WNBA first Team honors and the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year award.
Howard has also achieved notable success overseas, winning two Turkish League championships, two EuroLeague titles, the 2023 FIBA Europe SuperCup, and the 2024 Turkish Cup. Currently playing for Turkey’s Çukurova, she is averaging a team-leading 19.2 points per game and 10.8 rebounds.
