What to Expect: Culture, Cuisine, and Community
Every Sunday in May, visitors can enjoy free entry to the ethnographic museum in Rivalta, showcasing the river’s trades. Art and artisan exhibitions, along with educational workshops, will also be available. “Menù della Valle” degustations will be offered at a fixed price of 30 euros, featuring local specialties like Cotechino and Luccio.
Grand Opening: May 4th Highlights
the festival kicks off on May 4th with a vibrant program including street artists, a walk from Rivalta, and a mass at Grazie commemorating Pope John Paul II. Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re will preside, with Bishop Marco Busca concelebrating.The day will also feature the unveiling of a work dedicated to the Pope and a traditional Chinese “Dragon boat” race on the river.

Throughout May, “Maggio nella Valle” offers a diverse array of activities, from water-themed encounters and riverside yoga to canoeing, butterfly Bioblitz events in cooperation with the Parco del Mincio, concerts, and workshops.
