NEW YORK — Boston Red Sox radio broadcaster Joe Castiglione announced his retirement on Sunday, effective at the conclusion of the season, marking his 42nd year of calling the team’s games.

He will take on an honorary ambassador position with the team after his retirement. The Red Sox are set to honor him before their regular-season closing game on September 29 against Tampa Bay.
