DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Kyle Busch is concealing his disappointment. As he navigates through the NASCAR garage, he strives to prevent anyone from noticing how tough this season has been for the two-time Cup Series champion.
“I’m apparently a great actor,” he joked.
Busch has gone winless in 45 races, with his most recent triumph occurring on June 4, 2023, at Gateway Park near St. Louis. This ongoing downturn places him in a difficult position as he prepares for tonight’s race at Daytona International Speedway.
To secure a place in the playoff field for the 12th consecutive year, Busch must win one of the two remaining regular-season races: Daytona or Darlington. His last postseason absence was in 2012.
