“Our No. 2 Whelen Chevrolet team put in a strong effort throughout the day at Kansas Speedway. Danny Stockman (crew chief) and the crew faced significant challenges. We took every opportunity to adjust the car’s balance, although nothing seemed to yield the desired results. The car was very tight at the race’s start, prompting us to pit for adjustments at the conclusion of Stage 1. After the green flag dropped at the start of Stage 2, the car performed decently at entry but reverted to being tight after a few laps. During the final green flag run, the handling improved before once again becoming tight. We managed to secure a ninth-place finish, maintaining our position above the cut line leading into Talladega Superspeedway. Our next step is to return to Welcome, put in the necessary work, and prepare to perform better at the upcoming mile-and-a-half track as the Playoffs advance. I have confidence in our Richard Childress Racing team to deliver a competitive Chevrolet next week and to aim for a spot in the Round of 8.”

“our day with the Bennett Transportation & Logistics Chevrolet was quite good. We faced challenges with front turn but began to find more balance towards the race’s end. Unfortunately, our Chevrolet was too loose during the final run and took a bit too long to reach optimal performance. However, once it did, we were as quick as the No. 18 and No. 9 teams. Unfortunately, we ran out of laps to catch the No. 9 before the checkered flag. Despite this, finishing seventh and remaining in the top-10 throughout the race felt solid. While we always strive for more, it was a good points day. The buffer never feels large enough heading to a venue like Talladega Superspeedway, so it’s essential to stay aggressive and dedicated to each other. I’m excited to work alongside our teammate (Jesse Love) next week, hoping to compete for the win. This No. 21 Richard Childress Racing team is prepared to fight in every playoff race.”
