PRAGUE — At 52 years of age, Jaromir Jagr is feeling healthy, joyful, and remains active in professional hockey. He has yet to determine if this season, spent with Kladno, the team he owns in the Czech Extraliga, will mark his final one.
“What if I play well?” the two-time Stanley Cup champion and NHL’s second all-time leading point-scorer remarked to NHL.com on Friday. “You never really know. That’s my ambition. I’ve always aimed to perform at my best,” he added.
During the ceremonial opening face-off at O2 Arena, Jagr dropped the puck prior to the New Jersey Devils’ regular season opener, where they triumphed 4-1 over the Buffalo Sabres, part of the 2024 NHL Global Series Czechia sponsored by Fastenal.
