The Jacksonville Jaguars have hired Anthony Campanile as their new defensive coordinator. Head coach Liam Coen praised campanile’s “aggressive defensive mindset” and a system adaptable to the players.
Campanile, 42, has spent the past five seasons as an NFL assistant coach. He most recently served as the linebackers coach/run game coordinator for the Green Bay Packers. Prior to that, he held the same position with the Miami Dolphins from 2020 to 2023.
The Packers boasted a strong rushing defense under campanile’s leadership, ranking seventh in the NFL by allowing onyl 99.4 yards per game in 2024. They also gave up a league-low 4.0 yards per carry.
Campanile’s coaching experience extends beyond the NFL. He spent six seasons coaching high school football in New Jersey, including five years at Don Bosco Prep where he served as both offensive and defensive coordinator. From 2012 to 2015, he was a defensive assistant at rutgers, also coaching tight ends and receivers. Campanile further honed his skills at Boston College (2016-2018) and Michigan before joining the Miami Dolphins.

A: I believe in building strong relationships with my players and helping them understand the intricacies of the game. We’ll work tirelessly on technique, film study, and developing their instincts. I’m excited about the talent we have at linebacker and confident we can build a dominant unit.

A: Each level presents unique challenges and rewards. I’ve learned the importance of clear interaction, adapting to different personalities, and fostering a culture of accountability.Those lessons will serve me well as I lead the Jaguars’ defense.
