OGDEN, Utah – Former Weber State quarterback standout Jamie Martin is returning to the Wildcats, joining head coach Mickey Mental’s staff as an offensive analyst.
Martin, 54, is a beloved figure in Weber State football history. He arrived in Ogden in 1989 and quickly made his mark, winning the Walter payton Award, given to the top player in Division I-AA (now FCS), in 1991. His impressive career with the Wildcats also includes two All-America honors, two Big Sky MVP awards, and the school record for total offense with 12,287 career yards. His No. 10 jersey was retired by the university in 2014.
After going undrafted, Martin enjoyed a successful 16-year NFL career, playing for the Los Angeles/St. louis Rams, Washington Redskins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns, new York Jets, New Orleans Saints, and San Francisco 49ers. He appeared in 53 NFL games, throwing for 3,814 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions.
