MLB’s “Jackson Three” have a lot more in common than just their first name. Already connected by their shared title and status as top prospects turned rookie stars, Jackson Holliday, Jackson Merrill, and Jackson Chourio achieved something remarkable on Friday night that will not surprise those who have been closely watching them. Are any more Jacksons joining the festivities? Not at the moment—the only other two players named Jackson who have made it to the Majors this year (the Braves’ Jackson Stephens and the Nationals’ Jackson Rutledge) are currently in the Minor Leagues, and both are pitchers.
But to witness three star rookies with the same first name hit triples on the same night? That remains a noteworthy accomplishment.

United by a common name and their emergence as top prospects transitioning into rookie sensations, Jackson Holliday, Jackson Merrill, and Jackson Chourio accomplished something notable on Friday night, a feat that may not astonish their avid followers.
All three players achieved a triple in their individual games, with two of them occurring in rapid succession. Holliday kicked things off, smashing an RBI triple in the third inning for the Orioles, capping off a stellar four-hit evening.
At just 20 years old, Holliday became the second-youngest player in Orioles history to record a four-hit game, following Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson’s achievement in 1957. Interestingly, Robinson’s performance also included three singles and a triple, mirroring Holliday’s night.
“That’s remarkable,” Holliday remarked. “It’s incredibly special to share that with him. I hope there are many more opportunities like this in the future.”
Shortly after Holliday’s impressive triple, Chourio delivered a first-inning triple down the left-field line while playing for the Brewers, marking the first career triple for either player.
Later that evening, Merrill sealed the deal for the Padres at Coors Field with a one-out triple off the right-field wall in the sixth inning.
Merrill’s sixth triple of the season completed the unique occurrence of all three Jacksons hitting triples on the same night—truly a record of sorts.
Are there any additional Jacksons who can join the fun? Not at this moment — the only two other players named Jackson who have made it to the Majors this year (the Braves’ Jackson Stephens and the Nationals’ Jackson Rutledge) are both currently playing in the Minor Leagues, and they are both pitchers.
However, witnessing three star rookies with the same first name hit triples on the same night? That’s quite remarkable.
