With only two Top 10 finishes and a single Top 5 result in the regular season of 2024, Burton was ranked 34th in the driver’s standings heading into the Daytona race. Despite his position, the driver from Huntersville and the #21 Wood Brothers Racing team displayed determination throughout the event.
As the race neared its last restart, Harrison found himself right behind leaders Kyle Busch and Christopher Bell. On the crucial penultimate lap, he seized the moment by overtaking Busch, ultimately securing the lead and victory.
