NASCAR driver Hailie Deegan celebrated her 23rd birthday by indulging in a new simulator racing setup. Following a challenging season with AM Racing, she expressed her enthusiasm regarding this latest purchase.
Deegan, who competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, raced the No. 15 Ford Mustang for AM Racing until July 8. She began her journey in NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series West back in 2018 and made history as the first female driver to win races within that series.
Recently, Deegan shared a video on YouTube detailing her excitement about the new simulator setup.
“I’m shocked at how wide it is. This setup is massive,” she remarked.
“That’s my full motion R right there; it’s five times the amount that this rig is, and this rig is huge,” she continued.
She expressed contentment with the upgrade and now owns two simulators. The latest addition includes three 32-inch monitors, while her former setup had two 27-inch monitors flanking a central 49-inch curved monitor.
“I’m really happy with it. It’s going to make racing and training much more enjoyable… It’s definitely going to be more fun, and we will probably spend significantly more time on it,” she stated.
In a recent social media post, Hailie Deegan announced that she would be leaving AM Racing:
“I worked hard all off-season preparing for this year after being recruited by the team to drive their car. Regrettably, it hasn’t unfolded as I hoped.”
The young driver noted that her aspirations no longer aligned with those of the team and indicated her desire for new prospects. This year has been disappointing for Deegan; out of 17 races, she has only managed three top-20 finishes. Joey Logano filled in for Deegan during the Chicago race where he achieved his best finish of eighth place this season.
“Now everything just hurts all the time,” – Hailie Deegan on turning 23
The video also showcases Hailie celebrating her birthday while reflecting on turning 23 and how some of her plans were hindered.
“It’s my big day—turning 23! I know I sound old… I’m feeling it now! When I used to hit the gym, soreness wasn’t an issue but now everything just aches all day long,” she shared.
Although initially planning a boat celebration with friends, racing obligations required a change in plans.
“We’re heading to Lime Rock for the TA2 race but we’ll have our celebration next week,” she stated.
“We have to leave today so that’s just how things go. It’s totally fine; after all it’s just one day – we can treat next week like another birthday!” blockquote >
