Not particularly surprising for those who have been following the situation closely. However, it is perplexing and adds to the peculiar series of events that have unfolded for the Flyers since Danny Brière assumed the role of full-time GM.
Kolosov, a 22-year-old goalie prospect from Belarus, was drafted by the Flyers in the third round three years ago. He came to North America alongside Fedotov late last season to begin his journey with the Phantoms in the AHL.
He participated in a few games to conclude the previous season, while his entry-level contract was active. The Flyers had planned for him to be the primary goalie for the Phantoms in Allentown this season. However, Kolosov returned home for the summer amid speculation that he was feeling homesick and that there was a possibility he might not come back to North America at all.
Those rumors have yet to be resolved, and with rookie camp kicking off this week, time is running out to clarify the situation.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Kolosov is still listed on the Flyers’ roster, and there is no indication that his entry-level contract has been voided or terminated.

The television mounted on the wall across the hall, which typically showcases upcoming events and announcements, instead displayed a tribute to Johnny and Matthew, featuring photos of them as children in their Little Flyers uniforms from many years ago.
They were part of this community.
Matthew stood out as the individual who made it all the way to the professionals but eventually returned to contribute as a coach. He hailed from this area.

However, the most heart-wrenching part of all – for their parents, sister, wives, young children, and those yet to be born – is that two sons, brothers, husbands, and fathers… they will never return home again.
