INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Fever have made a notable move in free agency, signing guard Sydney Colson. Colson, a proven veteran with a championship pedigree, brings valuable experience to the Fever after three seasons with the Las Vegas Aces.
“Sydney is a proven veteran in our league and throughout her career, delivered for her teams in many big moments,” Fever COO and General Manager Amber Cox said. “She brings a championship pedigree to the Fever,adding depth to our point guard position. We have the utmost confidence in her ability to step into any situation and deliver on both ends of the floor.”
Colson played a key role in the Aces’ back-to-back WNBA championship victories in 2022 and 2023.The 32-year-old guard, drafted by the Connecticut Sun in 2011, has made the playoffs six times throughout her career, including a postseason run with the New York Liberty in her rookie year.
Over her career, Colson has averaged 2.8 points per game, shooting 40.4% from the field, while contributing 1.6 assists and 0.6 steals per game. she reached her largest career scoring average during las Vegas’ prosperous 2023 championship season, marking a career-high 44.4% shooting percentage.
Colson’s success extends beyond the WNBA. She led her collegiate team,Texas A&M University,to the 2011 NCAA Championship victory held in Indianapolis at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
