Pearce Dietrich assists you in constructing your DraftKings Pick6 Pick Sets for the NASCAR Cup Series Bank of America ROVAL 400 at Charlotte.
NASCAR has returned, and DraftKings presents an exciting new way to engage with fantasy NASCAR. The game is straightforward: create a “Pick Set” (comprising at least two selections) and assess whether your picks will exceed their statistical projections. Here’s some guidance to help you assemble your DraftKings Pick6 Pick Sets for the NASCAR Cup Series Bank of America ROVAL 400 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course.
Kyle Larson: Finishing Position – 6.5
Pick6 Play: Better
Achieving victories on road courses is never easy, and this holds true across all tracks in the NASCAR Cup Series. The unique nature of road courses adds to this challenge. The competition is intense, and the Gen-7 car offers a true stock experience. There exists parity in both equipment and skill among drivers at these tracks. Veteran drivers lose their usual edge, while the younger competitors, who have honed their skills on road courses, now come into play. The differentiating factor? Greatness, and Larson holds that title.
Larson triumphed at Sonoma earlier this spring. While he didn’t secure a win in road races last season, he managed to achieve a top-15 finish in five out of six races, averaging a ninth-place finish. He claimed a victory at Watkins Glen and finished third in 2023. His races in the inaugural season for the Gen-7 car in 2022 were marred by mechanical difficulties. In 2021, Larson garnered wins at both Watkins Glen and The Roval with his new team.
Chris Buescher: Finishing Position – 12.5
Pick6 Play: Better
The lack of respect is appalling. Blue-collar Buescher consistently goes unappreciated. How many victories does he need to secure? He is a former Xfinity Series champion who has claimed Cup Series victories on short tracks, intermediate tracks, super speedways, and road courses alike. What more must he achieve? He won the most recent road race (Watkins Glen) and garnered two top-10 finishes in this season’s initial road courses (COTA and Sonoma). His median finish on road courses stands as the best in the Cup Series, finishing sixth in 2023 and third in 2022.
Neither qualifying nor practice yielded favorable results. However, these sessions should not be confused with races. Teams often experiment during these times, and Buescher along with RFK certainly take risks. If there’s a team whose practice times can be doubted, it’s the Roush Fenway Keselowski Fords. One certainty is that Buescher is not concerning himself with points racing. He’s fully focused on seizing the opportunity.
Buescher, a playoff driver, will make pit stops before each stage break and advance accordingly. In contrast, playoff contenders lack this advantage. Once he gains a position at the front, similar to previous races, Buescher will maintain his spot and secure yet another top-10 finish.

Expert Tips for Building Your DraftKings NASCAR Pick6 for the Bank of America ROVAL 400
Understanding the Bank of America ROVAL 400
The Bank of America ROVAL 400 is one of the most exciting races on the NASCAR calendar, combining the challenge of road course racing with the high speeds of a traditional oval. This unique track at Charlotte Motor Speedway features a 2.28-mile layout with 17 turns, challenging both drivers and fantasy players alike. To build a winning DraftKings NASCAR Pick6 lineup, it’s crucial to understand the specific demands of the ROVAL and how they impact driver performance.
Key Factors to Consider
- Driver Performance on Road Courses: Look for drivers who excel on road courses. Historical data shows that a driver’s road course performance can be a strong indicator of success at the ROVAL.
- Recent Form: Pay attention to the last few races leading up to the ROVAL. A driver’s recent performance is often a better predictor of future success than their overall season statistics.
- Qualifying Position: Start position can greatly affect a driver’s chances at the ROVAL. Drivers starting near the front have a better chance to avoid early wrecks and maintain their position.
- Team Strategy: Consider the strategies employed by top teams. Some teams may have a reputation for better pit strategies or adjustments during the race.
Building Your Lineup: Positioning and Budgeting
DraftKings allows you to select six drivers for your Pick6 lineup, with a salary cap you must adhere to. Here’s how to allocate your budget effectively:
1. Star Drivers
Start by identifying star drivers who have a proven track record on road courses. These high-priced drivers can earn you substantial points. However, they should be balanced with budget-friendly options:
- Look for drivers like Kyle Larson or Chase Elliott, known for their road course skills.
- Evaluate their recent performances and qualifying results.
2. Mid-Tier Drivers
Mid-tier drivers can provide value and are often overlooked. They can finish in the top 10, delivering significant points at a lower cost:
- Consider drivers like Ryan Blaney or William Byron, especially if they’re starting in a favorable position.
- Check their past results at the ROVAL and other road courses.
3. Value Picks
Finding value picks can make or break your lineup. Look for drivers who are underpriced based on their qualifying position or recent form:
- Rookies or lesser-known drivers may surprise and outperform expectations.
- Keep an eye on practice speeds and qualifying times to gauge potential performance.
Utilizing Data and Statistics
To maximize your chances of success, leverage data and statistics effectively.
- Track History: Analyze how drivers have performed at the ROVAL in previous years.
- Average Finish: Consider a driver’s average finish on road courses, especially in the past few seasons.
- Speed Metrics: Look at average lap times and speed ratings from practice sessions.
Table: Key Drivers to Consider for ROVAL
