Capital Hills Golf Course: A Four-Season Park
The city of Albany officially kicked off the fall and winter recreation season at Capital Hills on Monday, marking the transformation of the golf course into a versatile four-season park. The highlight of the season’s opening is the unveiling of the Capital Hills Walking Trails, providing residents with a new opportunity to enjoy the park’s natural beauty.
Embracing Year-Round Recreation
With the conclusion of the golf and pickleball season on Sunday, Capital Hills Golf Course is ready to welcome visitors for a variety of winter activities. Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan expressed her excitement, stating, “When the snow arrives, as it inevitably will, this park becomes a haven for families to engage in sledding, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. It truly caters to everyone’s interests.”
Capital Hills Golf Course has now evolved into a multi-purpose park that offers recreational opportunities for all seasons. Whether it’s enjoying a round of golf during the warmer months or embracing the winter wonderland, the park aims to provide a diverse range of activities for residents and visitors alike.
Walking Trails for All
In addition to the winter activities, the city of Albany extends a warm welcome to all residents and their furry friends to explore the newly opened walking trails at Capital Hills. Dog owners are encouraged to bring their pets along, as long as they responsibly clean up after them. This initiative aims to create a pet-friendly environment where everyone can enjoy the park’s scenic trails.
