Salas left the experience equipped with clear developmental goals for the Arizona Fall League: to improve barrel accuracy, time his swings properly against various pitch types, and focus on hitting the ball to the larger part of the field.

The 18-year-old is currently tied for third in the Arizona Fall League with 10 RBIs, tied for second with five doubles, and boasts a batting line of .333/.378/.576 after eight games in this circuit, known for serving as a finishing school for the league’s premier prospects.
In addition to his one home run this fall, Salas holds the No. 19 position in MLB.com’s top-100 prospects list.
“He’s applied some of that learning in the fall league,” Daly noted. “He’s had a fantastic start.”

In the previous year, Salas hit nine home runs in 66 games after being signed as the Padres’ top international prospect and quickly moving up to Double-A San Antonio.
Salas achieved all nine of his home runs in the California League, posting an .837 OPS over 48 games, yet only played nine games with the TinCaps (.472 OPS) and another nine with San Antonio (.517 OPS) as the organization explored the boundaries of the young prodigy’s performance.
A knee injury prematurely ended that season, and as Daly remarked, Salas was “pitched tough” while adapting to a full season in the Midwest League during 2024.
