Panathinaikos Athens coach Ergin Ataman jokingly suggested that the NBA might invite his team to join the league, considering the club’s status and rapid growth in various aspects.
During a discussion about the newly launched Club 1908 mobile app, Ataman expressed his belief that the club has achieved significant milestones. He said:
“About the application, I can say that we have the best team in Europe. We are champions. This season, we started with the best arena in Europe and one of the best in the world. Now we have one of the best team applications. We might even have the best supporters. Maybe NBA teams will want to come play here at OAKA. But I think that after all these accomplishments by Panathinaikos in Europe: a great team, the best arena in the world, the best application, and amazing support – the NBA might invite us. So EuroLeague, be careful, you might lose Panathinaikos in the future!”
Ataman also believes the app will appeal to fans of other teams.
“I am sure that all Panathinaikos fans around the world will download this app soon, and I believe supporters of other teams will also check it out. They might even get jealous!
They’ll download it. Maybe they’ll cancel it after a week. But in one week, maybe we’ll have a record number of downloads.”
