Dominik Szoboszlai scored twice as Hungary concluded the international break with a victory, while Ibrahima Konate took on the role of captain for France.
The second international break of the season is coming to an end, and on Monday night, many of Arne Slot‘s key players participated in their final matches.
This included another starting appearance for Hungary’s captain Szoboszlai, who led his team against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the UEFA Nations League.
Liverpool’s No. 8 scored both goals in a 2-0 triumph, enabling Hungary to level on points with the Netherlands in their group after four matches.

His first goal resulted from a well-executed counter-attack where Zsolt Nagy was freed on the flank, delivering a pass to the advancing Szoboszlai, who took a touch with his right foot and then finished with his left.
Five minutes after the break, Nagy was fouled in the penalty area, allowing Szoboszlai to convert a powerful spot-kick to make it 2-0.
Szoboszlai played the entire 90 minutes and, according to FotMob, had the highest number of touches among Hungary players (61), tied for the most chances created (two), the most passes into the final third (six), and the second-most duels won (seven).
In another match, Konate made his second consecutive start for France during this international break, once again outshining centre-back partner William Saliba in a 2-1 victory against Belgium.
Saliba, who received a disappointing rating of three out of 10 from L’Equipe, committed a foul in the penalty area midway through the first half when he collided with Lois Openda.
Fortunately, Youri Tielemans missed the penalty, allowing France to take the lead through Randal Kolo Muani’s conversion.

Belgium equalized just before half-time with a goal from Openda, but Kolo Muani restored France’s lead shortly after the hour mark.
The match concluded with a chaotic finish, as Aurelien Tchouameni received a red card, prompting Konate to don the captain’s armband for the remainder of the match.
With Virgil van Dijk suspended, only two Liverpool players participated in the Netherlands’ 1-0 defeat to Germany, both Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo starting the match.
Gravenberch played 80 minutes, while Gakpo was on the field for 65 in a frustrating game for Ronald Koeman’s team, which was decided by debuting winger Jamie Leweling’s second-half goal.
Owen Beck and Lewis Koumas remained on the bench as Wales triumphed over Montenegro 1-0, marking Craig Bellamy as the first Wales manager to maintain an unbeaten record in his initial four games in charge.
England U20s achieved a 3-0 victory over Czechia, with Kaide Gordon finding the net, marking the first time he played the full 90 minutes since Liverpool U21s’ 3-2 win against Crystal Palace in May.
Trey Nyoni started and played 83 minutes in England U18s’ 3-1 victory over Ukraine, with centre-back Carter Pinnington entering the game as a substitute for the remaining half-hour.
Lastly, Giorgi Mamardashvili started once more for Georgia in their UEFA Nations League fixture against Albania, but his team suffered a 1-0 loss, marking two matches in the break without a clean sheet.
