Kroenke Sports & Entertainment has partnered with TEGNA to bring the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche games to 9NEWS.
DENVER — Local sports enthusiasts in Colorado can rejoice as both the Nuggets and Avalanche return to television.
This agreement will feature 20 Nuggets and 20 Avalanche games during the 2024-25 season on KTVD Channel 20, which is a partner station of 9NEWS. Additionally, some games will be broadcasted simultaneously on 9NEWS.
Residents in the Denver metropolitan area and in nearby regions of Colorado can enjoy watching the Nuggets and Avalanche on KTVD using a digital antenna, free of charge.
Mark Cornetta, President and General Manager of 9NEWS, stated, “With world-class organizations like the Avs and Nuggets, the outstanding fans deserve the opportunity to watch their teams on television, particularly given their recent successes. We’re thrilled about our collaboration with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment to make this a reality.”
According to the agreement, all 40 games for the Nuggets and Avalanche will be aired on KTVD, with ten of these games, yet to be finalized, also being simulcast on 9NEWS.
“As we celebrate the 25th season of Ball Arena, reflecting on our history while looking ahead, it feels appropriate to unveil the next phase of our Altitude Sports network, which includes Altitude+ alongside games on 9NEWS and My20,” commented Josh Kroenke, KSE Vice Chairman. “This innovative approach allows our fans to join us throughout this season as we strive to reclaim both the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy and the Stanley Cup for Denver.”
The lineup of complimentary games on 9NEWS and KTVD will persist through April, coinciding with the Nuggets and Avalanche as they gear up for their postseason endeavors.
