On Sunday, Dale Earnhardt Jr. voiced his support for Matt Weaver‘s recent video that depicted Weaver reaching 500,000 miles with his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado. In his post, Earnhardt Jr. tagged Chevrolet Motorsport and Chevrolet Trucks, proposing that they create a commercial for next year’s Daytona 500.
The Chevrolet Silverado stands out as one of the most beloved trucks across the United States and globally, largely owing to its association with NASCAR. This prominent stock car racing series has utilized this pickup truck for decades within their Camping Truck Racing Series.
This series represents the third tier of stock car racing, positioned below the Cup Series and Xfinity Series. Currently, Team Chevrolet and their Silverado trucks hold the title of defending Makers’ champion, outperforming both Ford and Toyota in the Truck Series.
On October 25, Weaver shared a video on his official X account, demonstrating his accomplishment of driving 500,000 miles in his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado. Viewers of Weaver’s X video could see that the truck’s odometer read 499,998 miles while he was on the road.
Shortly thereafter, the meter increased to 499,999, ultimately reaching the impressive milestone of 500,000. In his video, Weaver, a NASCAR insider, remarked:
“500,000 miles doing motorsports media in the 2003 Silverado.”
Shortly after, Earnhardt Jr. came across the video, and it piqued his interest. After viewing it, the former NASCAR driver retweeted it, adding a comment:
“Hey @ChevyTrucks, How about this! @TeamChevy.”
That wasn’t all; the Hall of Famer also proposed an idea for Chevrolet. He stated:
“If I was @ChevyTrucks I’d be on the phone with @MattWeaverRA scripting a commercial for next year’s Daytona 500.”
Earnhardt Jr.’s retweet generated a flurry of responses from fans and car enthusiasts, many of whom shared their own Chevrolet-related achievements on X. Chevrolet’s official X account recognized these accomplishments, congratulating fans on behalf of the entire organization.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is widely regarded as one of the most celebrated drivers in the Cup Series. Notably, when he embarked on his racing journey, the 50-year-old didn’t initially aim for a championship title. His primary goal was simply to be a race car driver.
“From a very young age, my only desire was to earn a living behind the wheel,” he shared with Autoweek. “I never set specific goals or dreamed of winning championships, Daytona 500s, or collaborating with top-tier team owners.”
“What mattered to me was to just be in the driver’s seat. I’ve achieved far more than I ever envisioned. So, I’m satisfied with what I’ve accomplished,” he remarked.
With a plethora of accolades, including a Hall of Fame induction and recognition as one of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers, Earnhardt Jr. is a legendary presence in the sport. He has participated in 631 Cup Series races, securing 26 impressive victories throughout his career.
