After spending teh last two seasons dominating the NASCAR Xfinity Series,Cole custer is back in the NASCAR cup Series,ready to take on the sport’s elite competitors.
Custer enters the 2025 season with valuable experience under his belt. He captured the Xfinity Series championship in 2023 and followed that up with the regular season title in 2024.
His return to the Cup Series comes with a renewed sense of confidence. “The second time around you just know so much better what to expect,” Custer said. “There’s so much information thrown at you, and you get put in a lot of hard spots because there’s so many competitive cars. So you just know more how to handle all those issues and how to work with yoru team to fix them.”
Custer will be the sole driver for the Haas Factory Team,a reorganization of Stewart-Haas Racing,which folded at the end of 2024. He’ll have a seasoned crew chief in Aaron Kramer, who has impressed Custer with his attention to detail.
“Just seeing the detail that he has and the work ethic he has gets me excited to go to the track,” Custer said of Kramer. “And having the alliance with RFK, they’ve proven that they’re a great team. Just being able to kind of build off that a little bit is definitely exciting.”
Custer’s first chance to showcase his skills with the new team will be this weekend at Bowman Gray Stadium, the host of the annual NASCAR Clash.

It’s exciting, but you just know it’s going to be some chaos and probably some angry people after the race.”

“I think the biggest thing for us as a new team getting going is just hitting some base hits, getting going, not putting ourselves in too many bad spots and just see where we stack up,” Custer said. “Then from there, try and really hone in on it thru the summertime. I think we have a great group, and it’s just a matter of kind of getting to the track and see what we need to do.”
