Marceau-lapierre Students to Compete at National Badminton Championship After Academic Victory
GALLARGUES-LE-MONTUEUX, France – Students from Marceau-Lapierre middle school are heading to the national badminton championship in Bordeaux this May after a decisive victory at the regional academic tournament held in Gallargues-le-Montueux.

The team, comprised of badminton players Robin Leclere, Kesaïan Fontaine, Rose Kelly Hatz, Kaelia Wognin, and referee Lehna Behih, emerged victorious after competing against eleven other teams from the Gard, Lozère, Hérault, and Pyrénées-Orientales regions.
Years of Dedication Pay Off
Physical education teachers Vincent Moullière and Juliane Meyer have been coaching the students. Moullière noted the victory as a reward for the team’s dedication to the school’s sports program since they were in 6th grade.He also highlighted the program’s popularity, with 115 of the school’s 150 students participating in sports like badminton and various team sports. Participation is voluntary.
National Championship Dreams Require Funding
the students expressed pride in advancing to the national championship, where they will compete against 27 teams. The team is now focused on raising €2,000 to cover travel costs for the trip to Bordeaux and welcomes donations from the community.
