The Milwaukee Brewers have made significant changes to their front office, promoting three individuals to assistant general manager positions. According to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, Will Hudgins, Matt Kleine, and Karl Mueller have all been elevated to assistant general manager roles within the organization.

In addition to these promotions, the Brewers have also announced that Matt Klentak will now serve as the executive advisor to the general manager. Klentak brings a wealth of experience to this new role, having previously served as the general manager of the Philadelphia Phillies from 2016 to 2020.

During his tenure with the Phillies, Klentak faced the challenge of rebuilding the team. However, the results did not meet expectations, and he ultimately stepped down after the shortened 2020 campaign. Following his departure from the Phillies, Klentak remained with the organization in a lesser role before joining the Brewers as a special assistant to president of baseball operations David Stearns and general manager Matt Arnold in 2022.

The Brewers’ front office has undergone several transitions in recent years. After the 2022 season, Stearns moved into an advisory role, with Arnold assuming the primary decision-making responsibilities. Stearns then left the organization a few months ago to become the president of baseball operations for the New York Mets.

With Stearns’ departure, Arnold now has the opportunity to promote from within the organization. This led to the decision to tap Klentak for the executive advisor position, recognizing his valuable insights and expertise.

According to the Brewers’ staff directory on MLB.com, prior to their promotions, Hudgins held the title of vice president, baseball systems and high performance, Kleine served as vice president, baseball operations, and Mueller held the position of senior vice president, player personnel.

These changes within the Brewers’ front office demonstrate the organization’s commitment to building a strong and successful team. With the newly appointed assistant general managers and Klentak’s expertise as the executive advisor, the Brewers are poised to make strategic decisions and continue their pursuit of excellence in the MLB.
