The Badminton Sport Club 95 Schwerin’s Charity Cup, held on April 12th, has achieved unprecedented success, raising a record €1,700 for charity and attracting over 70 participants. The event, themed “Fascination Badminton – The Details Make the Difference,” exceeded expectations in both fundraising and athletic performance.
Record Turnout for Badminton Tournament
The tournament was held at the Obotritenring sports hall, a venue with nine badminton courts, considerably larger than the club’s regular home. This allowed for the participation of many recreational, corporate, and club athletes who competed in three doubles disciplines. The number of participants set a new record for the event.
Charity Cup Breaks Fundraising Records
true to its charitable spirit, all proceeds from the tournament were donated to Vielfalter gGmbH, a local non-profit institution. Anja Kramme, the team leader of Vielfalter gGmbH, received the check for €1,700 from Robert Haker, chairman of BSC. Kramme expressed her gratitude, stating she was overwhelmed by the generosity.

Charity Cup Schwerin: NDR Defends Team Title, Event Praised by Mayor
SCHWERIN, Germany – The Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) Betriebssportgruppe successfully defended its team title at the annual Charity Cup in Schwerin, accumulating 45 points across all disciplines. the event, which supports local social initiatives, was lauded by Schwerin Mayor Rico Badenschier (SPD) for its valuable contribution to the city. The next tournament is scheduled for early april 2026.
Mayor Commends Commitment
Mayor Badenschier personally attended the event and praised the association’s commitment.He recognized the Charity Cup as an important asset to the state capital, particularly highlighting the support provided to social initiatives through sports. While the mayor did not participate in the games himself, he observed the competition with keen interest.
Sporting achievements
Participants celebrated several victories across different categories. In the men’s doubles (16 pairs), BSC 95 emerged victorious, followed by PSV Schwerin and SV Breitling Rostock. The women’s doubles (12 pairs) saw the Polizeisportverein secure first place, with “Thomas Elektro” and BSC 95 taking second and third, respectively. In the mixed discipline (24 pairs), the team of thomas Elektro/Baltic Akustik claimed the title, ahead of NDR and BSC 95.
Team Standings
Following the NDR’s victory in the team standings, SV Breitling Rostock secured second place, while the hosts, BSC 95, finished third.

The Charity Cup takes place annually to benefit a local social institution. BSC 95 Schwerin aims to continue the successful series and welcomes numerous participants and supporters to the next tournament in early April 2026.
