Atlanta Drive GC Unveils Full Roster for TGL League

Atlanta Drive GC, one of the teams set to compete in Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TGL league, revealed its complete roster on Monday.

Star-Studded Lineup

Eight-time PGA Tour winner Patrick Cantlay, 2014 FedEx Cup champion Billy Horschel, and 2009 U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover have joined forces with two-time major winner Justin Thomas to form an impressive team.

Excitement and Honor

“I am thrilled to be a part of Atlanta Drive GC and represent Atlanta in the TGL,” expressed Cantlay in a statement. “Atlanta has a rich golf history, and it is an honor to bring a new and innovative golf product to its passionate fans. With the support of Atlanta Falcons Owner Arthur Blank and his exceptional team, we aim to win championships for the city of Atlanta and the incredible golf fans across the southeast.”

Success in Atlanta

Cantlay has experienced great success in Atlanta, most notably winning the 2021 Tour Championship at the historic East Lake Golf Club. This victory not only earned him the prestigious FedEx Cup but also the Player of the Year honors for that season.

Horschel has also tasted victory at East Lake, while Glover made a remarkable return to the Tour Championship this year after a two-year absence.

Strong Regional Connections

Furthermore, Horschel played college golf at the University of Florida, and Glover attended Clemson University, which is located just two hours east of Atlanta. Although Clemson competes in the ACC, they have had their fair share of games in Georgia’s capital city.

With Horschel, Glover, and Thomas, who played at Alabama, Atlanta Drive GC boasts three players with deep ties to the region.

Inaugural TGL Season

All four players will be competing in the inaugural TGL season, which is set to kick off on Tuesday, January 9, and will be broadcasted on ESPN.

TGL management has worked closely with each player to ensure that the league’s schedule aligns with their commitments on the PGA Tour.
