Good morning, Wes. As I navigate the upcoming six days, I’ll keep reminding myself that this sport is about week-to-week performances. With two consecutive blowout wins, the Lions appear unstoppable. However, I have a feeling that might shift this Sunday.
One constant in this league remains: the importance of wins and losses. It’s essential to accumulate as many victories as possible, no matter how they are achieved. Adapt, learn, and grow.

The injury to Jordan Love is certainly worrisome and unfortunate. If there’s a silver lining, it’s that Detroit now needs to prepare for two distinctly different offensive strategies. If I were in Matt LaFleur’s position, I would keep Love’s status shrouded in ambiguity for as long as possible. What are your thoughts?
First and foremost, immense credit goes to Malik Willis for his performance stepping up at such a critical position. Additionally, LaFleur and his team have done an excellent job tailoring their strategy to align with their backup QB’s strengths. Regarding Love, LaFleur mentioned that his QB appears to be in good spirits. The Packers typically take the entire week to assess their players’ readiness for gameday, and I anticipate this time will be no different.
Good morning, Insiders! Right now, Detroit could very well be the most complete team in the NFL. David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs form such an electrifying duo that they maintain their rhythm no matter who is on the field. What will it take to slow them down?
First and foremost, protect the football. At all costs. The Lions currently rank second in the NFL in turnover differential at plus-10 and are adept at converting their opponents’ mistakes into points. Their offense is stacked, yet their backfield may just be the best in the league. I was completely mistaken about Montgomery; I thought Detroit made a mistake two years ago by signing him instead of keeping D’Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams. Montgomery has remained relatively healthy and is a game-changer. Not to forget, Jared Goff is performing like an MVP as well. So, it’s definitely an exciting time.

I hold a great deal of respect for this Detroit team. They appear as dominating as any other legendary team in recent memory. It may sound cliché, but I believe the primary focus this week must be on controlling the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. This will undoubtedly be the biggest challenge of the season and calls for a commanding performance in the trenches to succeed.
This is truly a midseason measuring stick, no doubt about it.
How can the Packers manage the Lions’ offense, especially given a significant injury in their backfield? Will they need to increase the pressure on Goff more frequently? This poses a tough challenge for our defense.
The Packers must apply more pressure on Goff than they did against Trevor Lawrence, particularly with a four-man rush. When afforded time in the pocket, Goff effectively dismantles defenses. He’s currently playing at an elite level.

I found the analysis of the long pass to Jayden Reed intriguing, especially since they had shown a run beforehand to mislead the defense. I was shouting at the TV, “Why on earth are you running?” They faked me out too (not that it means much). It truly is the game within the game.
The Josh Jacobs run allowed Green Bay to consume some clock before entering their two-minute offense. It also disguised what the second-down call might be. Once again, it was masterful play-calling. It was a high-percentage play if the look was available. If it was not, Willis still had the opportunity for a keeper, posing a threat for a first down and/or keeping the clock running.

I have to give credit to Devonte Wyatt for recovering that fumble. It appeared that one of the Jaguars’ offensive linemen was about to reach the ball first, but Wyatt delivered a massive hit, knocking him aside and securing the ball instead. It was such a smart play in that split-second moment. I was thrilled when it happened and couldn’t help but laugh when I replayed it. I doubt the offensive lineman saw that coming at all. Great job! Go Pack Go!
That was an impressively agile play from a 304-pound defensive lineman. A skill-position player couldn’t have scooped up the loose ball any more effectively than Wyatt did, particularly given how he overpowered the nearest offensive lineman to get there. That turnover could very well have clinched the victory for Green Bay.
McMoney! This guy appears consistent, calm, and fully capable. Perhaps all those fans advocating for the signing of a veteran kicker during training camp had a point after all.
There’s definitely something to be said for experience, especially in kicking. Brandon McManus has seen and done it all in the NFL. Now, he’s bringing that experience to Green Bay.
I recently read a comment about Tucker Kraft that called for accountability on both sides of the ball. My inquiry relates to the missed tackles on defense. How does our defensive coordinator plan to address this issue before facing the Lions?
Emphasizing the basics. In line with LaFleur’s perspective, the issue for Green Bay stemmed from the number of yards the Jaguars gained on check downs against the Cover-2 defense. While the defense was in control, they failed to make the most of the chances presented. Although it’s a lengthy game, sustaining focus for the entirety of the 60 minutes is essential.
Is there any update on the injuries to Evan Williams and Jaire Alexander? Having both players available against the Lions’ offense will be critical. This game has the potential to turn into a shootout, and making a crucial stop could very well influence the outcome. It would also be great to have QB1 return.
Initial updates appear positive, but we’ll know more by Wednesday. The Packers are in need of both defenders’ presence.
