SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Victor Wembanyama achieved a career-high 50 points, leading the San Antonio Spurs to a resounding 139-130 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night.
Wembanyama shot 8-for-16 from beyond the arc, also establishing a personal best, as the Spurs secured their second consecutive win. Jordan Poole countered with 42 points for the Wizards, who extended their losing streak to six games.
At 20 years and 314 days old, Wembanyama joins an elite group of players, ranking as the fourth-youngest player to score 50 points. He follows Brandon Jennings (20/52), LeBron James (20/80) and Devin Booker (20/145).
Wembanyama becomes the eighth player in franchise history to reach the 50-point milestone. David Robinson holds the Spurs’ record with 71 points against the Los Angeles Clippers on April 24, 1994.
Prior to this game, Wembanyama’s career high was 49 points in a 130-126 overtime win against New York. He has made at least six three-pointers in three consecutive games.
