Roma legend Daniele De Rossi recently received induction into the Italian Hall of Fame.
The former Giallorossi manager, dismissed by the club in September, reflected on which current midfielders he identifies with most during an interview with VivoAzzurroTV.
De Rossi shared, “I spoke to Tonali earlier. Before retiring, I advised our sporting director to sign him when he was still playing in Serie B. I envisioned myself playing alongside him for a year, guiding him through his first season, and then leaving the reins to him.”
“Then there’s Pisilli, who has been making waves recently. He is truly incredible.”
“Of course, we can’t forget Barella and Pellegrini, longtime stalwarts who have consistently driven Italy forward. They possess exceptional quality and will continue to do so for years to come.”
“When listing names, it’s impossible not to miss someone. Italy has always boasted phenomenal midfielders, and I believe we’re witnessing a resurgence of diverse styles that will be invaluable on the pitch.”
